Big Data Management and Analytics

Our Master’s Degree in Data Science participates in the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Programme in Big Data Management and Analytics (BDMA). BDMA is a unique program that fully covers all of the data management and analytics aspects of Big Data (BD), built on top of Business Intelligence (BI) foundations, and complemented with horizontal skills. It has been jointly designed and adheres to international studies, being structured to cover all the skills BI and BD specialists require.

Requirements

To be eligible for the program, one must have a Bachelor of Science degree, with at least 180 ECTS credits, and a major in Computer Science. In addition, a certified B2 level of English proficiency is required.

What to expect

The curriculum is jointly delivered by:

  • Universitè Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium;
  • Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Spain;
  • Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e), Netherlands;
  • CentraleSupèlec (CS), France;
  • Università degli Studi di Padova (UniPD), Italy.

The program is held entirely in English and is divided into four semesters of 30 ECTS credits each:

  • The first semester at ULB is focused on Business Intelligence;
  • The second semester at UPC covers Big Data fundamentals;
  • The third semester of the BDMA degree concentrates on how to couple the acquired competencies with a business goal;
  • The last semester is devoted to the Master’s thesis.

Employment prospects

Partners from leading industries in Business Intelligence, service companies, and public research institutes will train BDMA students and provide computers, software, course materials, job placement, or internship perspectives. Also, you will strengthen your networking capabilities to pursue studies in doctorate programs through connections with researchers and innovators.
